Apologies

Hi Folks,
Firstly - Apologies for neglecting my blog so badly!
I have been busy crafting for fundraisers and as usual leave it all to the last minute so I haven't had time to take pictures and post them here.
I promise to do this over the next few weeks.
Secondly - Thank you to all of those kind folk who attended my coffee morning it was a great success and a fantastic sum of money was raised for the Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children ( there's was a little issue raising money for the building trip so we decided to choose this charity instead.) For more information on the work they do check out www.nicfc.com
We will be having a few craft & cake evenings in December in front of the log fire so if you are interested let me know.
Watch this space....
Thanks

Coffee morning & Craft day

Hi Folks,
If you are free on the 19th November 2011 anytime from 9.30 onwards why not head my way.
I am hosting a coffee morning and craft day to raise money for the building trip to the Philippines that my hubby is going on this December.
You can bring your own craft project and work at it throughout the day, buy a kit to have a go at something crafty or simply relax with a cuppa and some home baked goodies. There will also be a small selection of home made items for sale.
Please tell your friends and hopefully we'll see you then!
Lynda
p.s if you need directions to the venue please contact me.

Welcome Baby Tommy

Hi Folks,
Let me introduce you to baby Tommy - isn't he cute?!
I made these two little hats to keep this little angel warm this autumn.
They were simple and quick to make and look rather cute on our little model if I do say so myself.
The patterns came off a free crochet website - which one I'm not 100%sure as I've looked at that many!(Any excuse not to do housework!)
Hope you like.
Lynda

Apologies

Hi Folks,
My apologies for my lack of blogging over the past few months. Since starting my new business I have had little time to craft. I have been busy making baby presents as all my friends are expecting at once! So my crochet hook has been in over drive these past few weeks!
The pictures aren't great but I'll upload them to let you see a few of the items I've finished and passed on.
Thanks for stopping by.

Wedding Anniversary

Hi Folks
It was our wedding anniversary at the weekend and as usual it was a last minute panic to make a card! I had bought the message stamp from Crafters & Co in their clearance sale but I didn't have an image to go with it. I rushed onto the web and bought my first ever digi-stamp!!
The image is forever young by mo manning( www.mosdigitalpencil.com ) I thought it matched the verse perfectly! The image was coloured with pro markers very quickly and layered over some stripy cardstock from an old christmas paper pack from do crafts.I added the strip of pearls to add some dimension and that was it done! Very quick and my husband seemed to like it. I have aspirations of being an eccentric old woman dressed from head to toe in purple so he thought it suited me well!!

Birthday party madness

Hi Folks,
I've had nothing but birthdays lately! This picture is the cake i created for my daughters 6th birthday which was princess themed! As everyone knows you can't be a princess without a castle so this is what my 9 little princesses were greeted with. After taking so long to make it though i wouldn't let them eat it!! Instead I made a forest of cupcakes to surround the castle and they got to eat those instead!

Hi Folks,
My sister-in-law gets married next week and a few weeks ago we hosted a bridal shower/hen night for her in a local hotel. The theme was pink & black - naughty or nice. I had the exciting job of decorating the venue and co-ordinating gifts and games etc. In traditional bridal shower fashion everyone in attendance received a goody bag which i made using the template Sarah from Sarahs little snippets gave me.This bag was made using 2 sheets of a4 black card This was embellished quickly with pink & white pearlised card cut into strips. The wording was printed on using Lucinda Handwriting. The little image is from a set of stamps by Smirk, stamped with staz-on black ink and coloured in using whispers brush pens. The scalloped circle is a woodware punch. 3d foam pads were used to attach the image to the bag and pink organza ribbon was used for the handles.
Lots of little goodies were popped inside for the attendees and proved a lot of fun on the night.
I had to make a larger bag however to accommodate all the essential items for the bride to be this required two sheets of a3 card. To decorate this bag i used a large strip of pink pearlised card and using my cricut cut out the letters "bride to be" in black card and attahed them with foam pads. I dont have a picture for this sadly.
They were fun to make! (Just as well as I had 13 to do!)

End of term presents ....

Hi Folks,
It was that time of year that saw me in a last minute flap (as usual) to get cards and gifts made for the teachers and assistants!
I had got some lovely bath salts with wooden scoops that just needed packaged nicely. This was a job for my cricut - tags, bags & boxes cartridge. Once glued together i just used some pink ribbon and gingham card to embellish the rose scented salts & lilac ribbon and gingham card for the lavender one. To attach the scoops i made a simple slit through which i tied some silver cord.
The cards were made using stamped images from the stampendous pail topper set which i can't remember the name of! (school days is in my head but i could be making that up!) And coloured in using pro markers. The patterned paper is from an old be unique range and cut using a large sizzix scalloped square die.
Thanks for looking.

birthday cupcakes

Hi Folks,
my son turned a "big 4" as he talks about at the end of June and I had the task of creating his wish to have tractor cupcakes! I didn't delight in the thought of making individual ones and decorating them as there were quite a few to do so instead i thought i'd use them to make a larger cake.
Once i baked what seemed like hundreds of cupcakes (actually it was more like 50) i set about trying to arrange them into the shape of a tractor (trickier than you think especially at midnight!) and decide what colours which cupcakes had to be iced like.
From the picture you can see the outcome! Caleb was delighted, as were all the kids (& big kids) who came to the party! It took longer however to get the green food dye off my hands!

crochet hat

Hi folks,
found this picture on my phone of my son(yes i know he's wearing a pink hat!lol) with one of my baby gifts i made a few months ago!
Its a little pink crocheted hat with matching purple crocheted flower. Very simple to do and very much appreciated by the mother of little anna!

It's been a while ....

Hi Folks,
It's been a while since my last blog! For a while i hadn't been crafting much, I'd kind of lost heart with it after the company I worked for closed and we had to shut our shop! The Paper Mill Shop will be missed!
Anyway a few weeks ago I met up with my dear friend Sarah and she rekindled my love for card craft once more and inspired me to get back on the horse as they say! I had a lovely and very relaxing day just chatting and crafting away without any interruptions! Just what the doctor ordered! Thank You Sarah!!
So be warned, the sleeves are rolled up and I mean business I've been busy make, make, making and intend on blog, blog, blogging! (If my computer doesn't crash from shock!! lol)
Hope you like what you see and maybe it will inspire you!
